Our aim is to promote, improve, share and enjoy photography in Toowoomba and the surrounding district offering many services, all specifically designed to improve photography and photographic skills in a friendly social atmosphere. Membership is open to all comers regardless of whether you are a beginner, an amateur or a professional photographer.

TPS Club Meeting – Tuesday, 8 August 2017

Our first club meeting for the new competition year is at 7:00pm this coming Tuesday, 8th August 2017.  There have been 120 images submitted by club members for our August 2017 Aggregate Competition which will be judged this evening by Graham Harris.

Our Set Subjects for this month have been:

  1. Lakes, Rivers, Dams
  2. Joy of Life

TPS Nature Field Day – 13th August 2017

The next Toowoomba Photographic Society Field Day is being held in conjunction with the Toowoomba Field Naturalist Club on Sunday, 13th August 2017.  On this field day we will visit two properties in the Kingsthorpe District.  The sites provide plenty of photographic opportunities – rural scenery, birdlife, native vegetation and aboriginal scar trees to name a few.

TPS Annual Dinner

The Toowoomba Photographic Society Annual Dinner and Awards night for the 2016-17 competition year is being held on Saturday, 19th August 2017 at Urban Grounds Cafe, 210 Herries St, Toowoomba at 6:00pm.  Please see the invitation available by clicking here – for more details and RSVP.

Payments can be made by direct deposit (preferred) or to Greg Ivanov on club night at the door.

TPS Skills Night – Night Sky Photography – 23 June 2017

Our next TPS Skills Night is being held at DeMolay House on the 23rd June 2017 at 7:00pm.

Our guest speaker this month is Jonah Scott who will speak on “Night Sky Photography”.  Jonah makes his own telescopes and photographs the night sky.  We will be photographing the night sky on his farm at Cecil Plains the following night on our 24th June 2017 Field Day. (more…)
