Set Subjects:

1. Creative – Creative or experimental photographs display a novel effect because of an unusual combination of objects and /or unusual viewpoint.  Photographs in which the images have been modified during or after exposure by using an experimental technique are also eligible in Creative/Experimental sections.  The photograph must always have a basic photographic image.  Digital manipulation processes may be employed provided the original photograph was exposed by the entrant.
2. Recycled – something that has been used before and then put through a process so that it can form a new product.

• Image Processing with FastStone (Allan Rosser)
• Portraiture (Graham Burstow)
• Posing App (Graham Harris)
• Use of Gradient Filters (Margaret Kebble)
• Using the TPS MyPhotoClub website (Graham Harris)

For this month the Image Challenge is “Music”.  Please send up to five images for this Challenge, together with up to five images for the Field Day and five for the Favourites to be included in the Skills Night audio-visual to me at graham_harris@westnet.com.au by 6:00pm on Thursday 24th August 2017.

Set Subject: Travel

A photograph that captures the feeling of a time and place, and portrays a land, a people or a culture in its natural state.  Photo Travel has no geographical limitations.  Ultra close-ups which lose their identity, studio type model pictures or obviously manipulated work do not qualify as Photo Travel and should not be submitted.  Photo Travel is not limited to other lands or countries and may include pictures of domestic origin.

We will meet at the Neil St Carpark next to the Wonderly and Hall Building, Neil St at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

We will be touring the First Coat Street Art and taking night photography shots until around 9:00pm.  Experienced photographers will be on hand to assist with camera settings.

Please bring your camera, tripod, shutter release, speedlights and torches.

Guest Speaker: Pippa Ellis, Universal Drones – using drones for photography and cinematography (TBC)

Image Challenge: Perspective

Participants need to register for this event by the 27 October 2017 Skills Night with Graham Harris.

Participants need to bring:

• their computer with Lightroom loaded on it (if you do not have a copy of Lightroom you can download a free trial version for 7 days from the Adobe website – www,adobe.com/au)
• A camera with some of their images on their SD card
• $25 to pay for the workshop

The workshop will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm – please arrive from 9:00am in order to set up your computer before the workshop.
