2020 entries – all digital
Following the decision to reallocate all print entries to the appropriate digital category for 2020, this task has now been undertaken.
Please check your entries to ensure they are in the right grade and category, as errors are possible with this process. This is YOUR responsibility as it is to read to email notices from your club.
Please let me know of any errors including the name of the image, where it is now, and where it should be, by Friday pm. The process of tallying pointscores, etc will commence this weekend.
Thank you for your attention.

Tonight’s Micro Skills Night – Macro/close up photography
Tonight’s Micro Skills session is macro photography with Jenny Graff. Members then have the opportunity to put their macro or close-up photography skills into practice at Laurel Bank Park this Saturday at 3 pm.
Where possible, we try to have an information session followed by a hands-on session. We haven’t always been successful with this, given the chaotic nature of this year. But we will try harder to organise this.

How YOU can be a step ahead for next year’s competition.
One of the set subjects for next year is “Purple”. The guideline is “Purple is any colour intermediate between red and blue. It can be reddish purple, lavender, etc. Any subject as long as at least 75% of the image is purple.”
If you want to get this one in the bag, plus have a great time, join us at The Floating Cafe, Grantham, Saturday 31, at 6.30pm. Model Sarina Charming whom many of you have already met, will be in shades of purple against the backdrop of the magnificent jacanda trees and blossoms at the cafe.
This will be followed by breakfast, starting at 7.30am. Those interested, can go on to Helidon, where we are sure to find flowering jacarandas in the streetscape of the older part of the village.
Details:
Time: 6.30pm
Where: Floating Cafe, Grantham (on the highway passing through the village).
Costs: pay for your own breakfast PLUS $5 each for the model (give this to me on the day).
RSVP: Please let me know asap if you coming so I can give the cafe some numbers.
The full program of set subjects for 2021 will be published shortly when guidelines are finalised.

Alice Black award October 2020
To perpetuate the memory of our late member Alice Black, the club has introduced the ‘Alice Black Memorial Trophy’ to be contested each year on a perpetual basis.
At each month’s Aggregate Competition the judge will select an image from all those entered as the monthly Alice Black Image – they will use their own criteria to select the image regardless of the score given. All images submitted in the Aggregate Competition have the potential to become a possible winner of the Trophy as there is no restriction on the grade of the entrant or the medium in which the image is presented.
This month’s winner is REDACTED with “Aboriginal performer at Woodford”

Please do not park either on the circular drive or the open car shelter, unless for temporary use such as dropping off equipment, etc.
Looking forward to a great afternoon.
